A Marriage Discipleship Strategy for Churches
The Intentional Marriage: A Guide to Building Love That Lasts was written to help churches strengthen marriages through biblical truth, practical tools, and intentional discipleship.
This is more than a marriage book or a one-time event. It is a pathway pastors and ministry leaders can use to help couples understand their patterns, grow spiritually, and take intentional action together.
The pathway can begin with personalized insight through the Intentional Marriage Health Profile™ and continue through teaching, conferences, small groups, reflection, Scripture, prayer, and practical next steps.
A Simple Process Your Church Can Implement
How the Marriage Discipleship Pathway Works
Rather than offering couples disconnected resources, this pathway gives your church a clear progression from awareness to meaningful conversation to intentional growth.
The Health Profile is most effective when it becomes the beginning of discipleship—not the end of an assessment.
STEP 1
Choose the Right Church Pathway
We begin by understanding your church, the couples you want to serve, and whether the best starting point is ongoing discipleship, a teaching series, a live event, or a blended approach.
STEP 2
Begin With Personalized Insight
Each spouse completes the Health Profile individually in approximately 12–15 minutes and receives personalized insight into strengths, growth areas, and faithful next steps.
STEP 3
Build a Shared Language
The book, teaching, small-group conversations, Scripture, prayer, and practical exercises help couples understand one another and apply the insights to everyday marriage.
STEP 4
Continue the Growth
Couples leave with practical next steps and a focused growth plan. When more support is needed, leaders can maintain appropriate boundaries and help couples connect with qualified professional care.
The result is a repeatable marriage ministry pathway that can continue long after a message, conference, or group has ended.
A Personalized Starting Point for Every Couple
Begin With Insight. Grow With Intention.
Every couple enters discipleship from a different place. The Intentional Marriage Health Profile™ helps couples understand what is happening beneath the surface of their marriage before they begin—so the teaching, conversations, and next steps become personal and meaningful.
The goal is not to label a marriage. It is to help a couple see where they are, recognize what is strong, and take their next intentional step together.
Establish a Meaningful Starting Point
In approximately 12–15 minutes, each spouse receives a personalized picture of strengths and growth areas across eight essential dimensions of marriage.
Focus the Discipleship Journey
The personalized report identifies a couple’s greatest strength and most important growth opportunity, giving the book, group teaching, and conversations immediate relevance.
Turn Insight Into Intentional Action
Practical next steps, Scripture, prayer, and a focused growth plan help couples apply what they are learning and continue building after the discipleship experience ends.
Secure and private by design. Small-group leaders do not receive private individual responses. When a counselor or designated professional is connected through the appropriate invitation process, access is explained before participation.
The Intentional Marriage Health Profile™ is an educational and discipleship resource. It is not a clinical diagnosis, mental health evaluation, crisis assessment, or substitute for professional counseling.
Clear Resources. Flexible Implementation.
