Are You Ready to Make Different Choices?
Nov 01, 2024As a child, you likely heard from your parents that you have choices to make. Little did you realize then how profound those choices would become as you grew up! We've all made a mix of excellent and regrettable decisions. No matter your past choices, today can mark the beginning of new, forward-moving decisions.
During my college years, I faced a period where many of my choices were less than healthy, influenced by the people around me and my own mindset at the time. These decisions brought consequences, some of which I still address today. However, what's remarkable is how these choices have transformed into motivators rather than barriers. Your past decisions can do the same for you. Just because you've made harmful choices doesn't mean you're destined to remain stuck in them.
Take a moment to reflect on your life's decisions up to now and ask yourself, "How are these choices impacting me today?" Are they propelling you toward a greater purpose, or are they holding you back in defeat and regret? Even if you've made less than ideal choices, you don't have to stay there. Consider how different your life might be if you had chosen differently. By making a new choice today, you can alter future outcomes.
Stand up today and make a different choice. It's time to clear out the closet of regrets and live as the person God intended you to be. Choose from a place of integrity, embracing your character strengths that motivate you to live in truth. When you decide from the heart to change, nothing can hinder you from creating something awesome. Don't conform to cultural expectations; instead, spend time with the God who created you and step into the greatness He designed for your life.
Keep this scripture in mind as you reflect on past choices you wish to change:
"And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters." - Romans 8:27-29 (NLT)
This truth is something you can stand firm on. I am living proof that even the wildest choices can be transformed into tools God uses to guide others towards Him. My very act of writing this post is evidence of His transformative power. So, make a new choice today and create some awesome in your life!
